HOME SAFETY ON HALLOWEEN

Halloween is a fun time for everyone! The children love to dress up in costumes, get together with friends and go door-to-door asking for candy. The adults love to dress up the children and hand out the candy to neighborhood children.

If your house tends to attract a lot of little ghosts, witches, superheroes, pirates, and princesses, you want to make sure that your yard and walkway are safe and welcoming to trick-or-treaters. A little planning ahead can prevent unfortunate accidents that could turn into tragic.

Here are some tips for ensuring your house is a safe place for trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Pepe Insurance Halloween 2018

Clean up the yard: If you have items in the yard such as toys, rakes, tools, tree branches, you name it, it is time to clean it up. Make sure the yard is free of potential hazards and create an object-free walking path.

Lock the pets away: Many pets, such as dogs and cats, can get frightened when strangers approach the door and ring the bell. Make sure you put your pet in a comfortable and secure space away from the door

Light up the yard and driveway: Make sure your path is well-lit. You can do this by using any type of yard lights, such as solar, string, LED, existing outdoor lighting or glow-in-the-dark.

Turn off the lights: When you are done handing out candy for the night, turn off the lights. Make it obvious that you are done handing out candy for the night.

Pepe Insurance Agency hopes you have a safe and Happy Halloween! Make sure to also check your children's candy bag before they eat anything!
